Letter 168

It Could Happen at Any Time
Even the Demcommunists know the country has been doing better since President Trump was reelected. Of course, they hate it. Although I believe the Lord has, and will continue to, protect Trump, I could be wrong.

We know the Democommies are cold-blooded murderers. We also know that they at least tried to take out Trump. If they try again and succeed, we can expect the country to be in an instant civil war. Thank God that Trump’s in office, but stay prepared.

Democommunist Anarchy
Even if the Democommies fail to kill Trump, they may succeed in plunging us into a civil war via L.A.-type insurrections. If they succeed in destroying domestic peace, your city may be besieged by lawlessness and random acts of terror.

Again, enjoy the peace we have now, but remain vigilant.

But Never Forget
I believe Americans should “be prepared.” If you want to buy a gun, stock up food and water, and have other items in case of a national dissolution of our country—fine. But don’t rest in the “safety” of your preparations.

Our only hope for safety is the mercy of God. NOTHING can assure your safety if God doesn’t protect you. No amount of preparation can replace God’s mercy.

Do anything you wish to prepare for an emergency, but don’t trust your efforts! I suggest you literally throw yourself on the mercy of God and tell Him you do not trust your own efforts to provide for you. You would rather be caught with an empty larder and faith in God than a basement filled with provisions and self-confidence.

Take Your Wife Out for Dinner
I believe in working hard. Whether it’s with your back or your brain, hard work is rewarding. For that reason, I also believe in taking some time off every now and then. People who work hard always have something on their mind. Getting away for a while refreshes both your mind and body.

When you can’t get a length of time off, the next best thing is to go out to eat. Kathy & I truly enjoy taking a night and just going out to eat. It doesn’t cost as much as a vacation and doesn’t take as much time or planning as extended time off. But sometimes it is a great, quick refresher and extends your endurance until you can actually get away for a real vacation.

It will take your mind off the problems of life and the world for just a little while. You should try it!

Fight On!
Levi Smith was a lumberjack and lay preacher in Washington State until he was 63 years old. At 63, he went to Japan as a missionary! He was there for 33 years! At 96 he came home, spent one year in the U.S., and said, “God’s not through with me yet in Japan.” At 97 he returned to Japan.

He died there at age 98!

What testimony will you leave behind?
