A New Gipp
Nathan & Rose had their baby. Ezra Haddon Gipp came into the world on Oct. 24, 2007. He was 10 lbs. 5 oz. and 22 in. long! He walked home from the hospital! He is now up to 25 push-ups a day and has most of Matthew memorized. (Some of that might be Grandfatherly exaggeration. But the weight & length are right.)Someone has our range
We are at war with the devil. Sometimes during a war the enemy “gets your range” and lobes some artillery shells in pretty close. That’s where we’ve been of late. The Motorhome - Our slide outs have canvas covered fiberglass covers to keep rain, snow and twigs off the tops of the slide outs. The canvas on ours peeled off.
Then a hailstorm punched holes through the fiberglass like a .22 through a paper target. We had those replaced.
Then one day we noticed water dripping out from underneath the coach. A water line had popped a small hole and a fine spray, like a garden hose with a pinhole, filled up our “basement” area. The floor is cupped so the water ran to the center and saturated cardboard boxes. We had a real mess. After locating the leak I played “The Human Sponge” and laid in water while repairing the pipe. We had to throw a lot of stuff away because it was ruined.
Then, I found mildew in an inside cabinet where I store stationery. Apparently one of our back slide outs is letting water in. I cleaned up the mess and tossed the damaged goods but finding & fixing the leak is a much larger matter.
Then, the batteries on our house service went south and needed to be replaced.
This all happened over about a four week period so it kept us pretty busy.
Me - I told Kathy that I feel like my body is a boat with numerous leaks. It seems, just when I get one stopped up two more pop out! We had some time off for Thanksgiving. During that time I ended up in one of those “Urgent Care” medical places. I have Shingles. They’re on my shoulder, neck and in my mouth a little. But all-in-all, not too bad.
Then an X-ray showed that I have an infection in my lungs. It started two years ago when I laid on the floor of a filthy Indian-run motel to do traction on my neck. I laid down fine and got up coughing. Been doing it for two years. Two doctors couldn’t cure it. It was just in my windpipe but has now moved into my lungs. I now have an inhaler and prescription. We’ll see how that does. It tends to make me short-of-breath when I do anything.
Then the Doc said my blood pressure was high. (I wonder why?)
It is obvious the clove of garlic around my neck hasn’t been working so I now wear a glazed donut instead. It may not help but I’ll never starve to death.
Please don’t misunderstand! I am not the least bit depressed over any of this. I am happy as a Lark and have no complaint against the Lord. There’s no reason to mope.
In spite of what you think, I do try to take care of myself. Kathy & I try to walk 2-3 miles a day. I don’t eat near as much as you might think I do and I rest whenever I think I need to. One of the major sources of stress, other than being on this “vacation-all-year-long,” is that I truly understand that this is the one chance we have to serve the Lord in this life and I am driven to do as much as I possibly can before time runs out. Pastors often call and offer to cancel meetings to give us time off. The fact is, I want so much to help churches that the thought of canceling a meeting adds to my stress rather than relieves it. What would lighten my load? Calls from people telling how they have decided to get into the fight instead of watching from the sidelines! Now that would be a blessing!
You may not know, but I have “cut back” in a few places. I have scrapped a couple of ideas because they would take too much time to do. One was another set of home school lessons. The two sets we have now are aimed at kids who go to a Christian college so they won’t lose their faith in the King James Bible. I wanted to do one more set aimed at kids who go to a secular college so they won’t lose their fath altogether. It was going to deal with philosophy, evolution, psychology, socialism etc. (See! You see the need! Don’t you?) But the undertaking is a tremendous strain and probably will not get done. My heart breaks for the parents as well as the students, but there really is just so much one man can do.
But we are getting some things done
Below is the newest poster. It is dedicated to the Air Force. Please don’t call me and tell me how I neglected a subject you wanted covered. Just let me know when you have yours done.We are going to make 15 of the posters into postcards. I’ll let you know when those are done.
Also, we’re going to start producing “bullets” for you to use. Not lead bullets. Paper bullets. I am working on four little pocket-sized cards. One is the “New Bill of Rights” from a past “Letter From a Friend.” Two others are the “I Refuse” and “I Am An American” lists from the back of We Are Americans. The fourth one is called “I’m Not a Racist.” They are designed to help you fight back against the Liberal-motivated intimidation you get from the intolerant TV, movies and the News Mafia. They will be produced in three sizes; pocket size, 8" x 11" wall-hanging and poster-sized for schools. I’ll let you know what they’ll cost when they’re done.
The book on the flaws in the 2006 Geneva Bible is at the printer and should be ready by the first of the year. It will be $5.95.
You can order any of the above from DayStarPublishing.org or by calling 800-311-1823.
Well, I have to go and see what new holes have sprung in the boat! THANK YOU for your prayers
Have You Changed Your Address?
Frequently I have people tell me, “Hey! Why don’t I get your letter anymore?” I ask them, “Did you move?” “Yes.” “Did you send your new address to the return address on the envelope?” “No.” “Do I look clairvoyant?” Soooooo, if you move and want to keep getting the letter you will need to send your new address to:Bible Believers Baptist Church
660 Constitution Ave.
Stowe, PA, 19464or e-mail: gippletterupdates@msn.com (This is an e-mail address not a webpage.)
or call: 610-327-8331
Every letter that is returned because of a bad address costs us 70 cents, and I have better uses for our funds than that.
But, some folks have simply been dropped by the computer. Why? Because computers are retarded and they just love to do that. If that has happened contact Christy at the above address or phone number and she’ll get it squared away.
On the other hand, if you wish to write to Kathy or I personally then send your letter to the address at the top of this stationary. If you send it to Pennsylvania they will just end up sending it to us and it will take several weeks to get here.
